Jake GonzalesJake Gonzales has been in the radio industry for 16 years, 15 of them at theTejano formatted radio station Magic 93.7 in Lubbock, Texas where he is currently on air weekdays from 10am-3pm.
His late father Johnny Gonzales introduced him to the “Disc Jockey” world in the mid-eighties. Johnny, at that time, worked at KLFB-AM radio in Lubbock and would take Jake along with him on his early morning weekend shifts. While his dad stepped out to cut commercials, Jake would cue the records and put them on the air.
In addition to his dad introducing him to being a disc jockey, in Lamesa, Texas his uncle Bobby Gonzales also dabbled in radio, selling radio ads and being on-air. The passing of Jake’s dad quickly lead him to move in to take his place standing along side Bobby G., DJ'ing in his hometown of Lamesa at The Lamesa Civic Center for special occasions and fundraisers.
When he is not spinning in Lamesa, he’s for hire with his own DJ Service, G ENTERTAINMENT. With his dad Johnny, uncle Bobby, and various family members being musicians and DJs, music has been and will always be in Jake’s blood.
